Avalon Winter

The odd cold southerly and rug up, crystal clear air and water,
long cool shadows, clouds along the eastern horizon - time to reflect....

I waited to catch the last flicker of light, from the setting sun, and a minute latter it was gone. I love this shot for the perfect balance and the textural contrast between the fragile mirror like pool and the heavy tidal boulders. South Avalon headland and the clear open sky make for a perfect backdrop.

Check the enlarged image and you can follow the sea mist, drifting the length of the southern headland, out to Bluefish Point, at Manly, in the far distance. The swallow was flitting over the rocks, picking off spindly bugs and, just happened into scene. Sometimes it all falls together.
