Avalon Village - Tour of Avalon.....
by Stephen Fitzgerald

In 1920 AJ Small purchased, subdivided and named Avalon. He established Palmgrove Park, Avalon golf course and planted the conifers and Norfolk Island Pines along the beachfront. He saw Avalon as a retreat similar to that of King Arthurs Avalon. Located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Avalon remains just as beautiful and just as mystic today.....

I took these urbanscape photographs, as a documentary, to record Avalon as it is today and
capture a truly beautiful era in time. A set or these images will be proudly donated to the
Avalon Historic Society, for posterity, and may be exhibited to show future generations how things
were at the beginning of the 3rd millennium. These images are high resolution, large format and,
will last 300 years in dark storage or 100 years on display. If we keep renewing the digital copies
they could even be displayed at the beginning of the 4th millennium....

I have a feeling that Avalon may be a little different in the year 2107 and a great deal different in the
year 3007. It would be great to be there to see the changes, the same as it will be great for future
generations to look back on today.
