Finding Diamonds from Avalon Summer

Taken, from the edge of the rocks, bellow South Avalon headland. This photograph will draw you in and hold you in it's spell. The play of light on the ocean is captivating and you can almost feel the shimmering heat from one of the warmest mid spring days on record. (30.9C)

The entry point, for this photograph, is the foreground gap in the rocks. If you have a vivid imagination, the rock on the right, at this point, appears to be a lions head and the one on the left, that of a mountain gorilla. (Check the enlarged image). Moving on, the rocks on the far right point you back into the photograph and down along the wave line (have the good look) and onto distant Avalon Beach where, you real feel compelled to join the early morning crowd and throw yourself into the cooling embrace of the ocean.

This photograph was planned for many months. I did some preliminary shots and sketches before deciding on the best composition, then I waited for the right day with a morning low tide and small swell. And for me at least, there truly are diamonds to be found.....
